This book is the story of a man, Darrell Slape, who found a cure for his own back pain and learned to walk again unassisted. The book is an autobiography and chronicles from birth up to the point at which he opened his successful massage and personal training business. It is true that he is not a licensed physical therapist or medical doctor, nor did he claim to be. Mr. Slape is a massage therapist and personal trainer, as he claimed to be. It continues to be true that he is the most prosecuted massage therapist in history, as the book chronicles. There were more than eight investigations of his activities and all accusations, including medical billing fraud, were won because of a relentless defense team and false accusations.It is true that Mr. Slape is in prison, because he was falsely accused of sexual crime. It is not true that he is a registered sex offender at this time. Mr. Slape's case is before the California Court of Appeals on the following grounds: It is unfortunate that his lawyer, was at best ineffective and could have done far more to help him win his case. The judge was biased and told Mr. Slape he could not have two chosen expert witnesses and told him to "use the prosecution's expert witnesses" to argue his defense. And, the Humboldt County court tried but tragically failed to make adequate legal accommodation for Mr. Slape's deafness. Having had some serious back issues myself over the decades i was rather pleased at coming across the book at a local bookstore. It details the story of a man who was severely sidetracked by significant back issues, realized that further mainstream medical treatment might permanently paralyze him, or worse, and who set out to figure out how to be properly healed. In doing so he came up with protocols that actually worked, and which, as a result, angered quite a few "main streamers". Why angered? I hate to be negative, but i have a feeling that loss of "profits" may have been an issue, since Slape's successes apparently became fairly well known, and probably steered not merely a few potential clients away from the local "main stream interests", and perhaps proved a slap in the face to certain other "additional interests". Once loss of $$$ is involved among the main stream "elite", all bets can be off, and they do *whatever* they need to to discredit you, no holds barred. To these types, among whom huge egos are not unknown, "winning" is the only goal, and the means can always be "justified". I could cite a number of instances of such behaviors from my own experiences as an attorney, rubbing elbows, as the saying goes, with quite a few self proclaimed VIPs, but would rather not do so at this juncture. In any event the story is very compelling, and the book very well written.

This man has been cited multiple times for fraud and illegal medical billing.
He has also been convicted of sexually assaulting women during massage in his office. He was recently sentenced to prison for seven years and is a registered sex offender. He has NO license to practice medicine or do physical therapy.
